Robin Class - Our Autumn and Harvest learning continued!

What a busy week we’ve had in Robin Class!

We have continued our learning all about Harvest and Autumn. We began the week by meeting Winnie, a very special 102-year-old tortoise, and helping her get ready to hibernate. We then used wooden blocks to build cosy hibernation homes for our mini toy hedgehogs.

We also discovered how squirrels collect and hide acorns for the winter, and how wild birds migrate south to find warmer places.

Our harvest learning continued as we explored different fruits and where they come from. We drew fruit using oil pastels and practised listening for and recording the initial sounds in fruit names—for example, 'p' for plum. The children also enjoyed tasting a variety of fruits and writing the names of their favourites on our class shopping list. We’re looking forward to making and enjoying our very own class fruit salad on Friday!

On Wednesday, we enjoyed visiting the church and singing songs for our Harvest Festival service.

Well done, Robin Class, for such a busy and exciting week!
