School Meals

All children can bring in their own packed lunch or order a hot meal. Our school meal provider is Chartwells. Please note: Free hot school meals are provided for children in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 and those in Key Stage 2 who are eligible, see criteria below.

Our School Meal provider, Chartwells, have teamed up with ParentPay to enable parents to book the exact meal option for their child from the menu for each lunchtime.  This should mean that your child will never need to miss out on their preferred choice again.  

For children in Years R, 1 and 2 and those eligible for Free School Meals, there will be no charge at time of order.  Parents with children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be able to book and securely pay for their meal selections.  Parents will be able to order up to 10 weeks in advance.

Parents will receive an activation letter from ParentPay to enable them to login and order meals for their child. Please contact the school office if you require any assistance with activiating your ParentPay account.

During lunch service, the lunchtime team and the Chartwells kitchen teams will have the orders on a tablet known as Cypad. This will show the chosen meal for your child that you ordered to be served on that day.

The current meal price is £2.97

How to order: Log on at www.parentpay.com to choose and book your meals. Orders need to be placed by midnight Thursday, ten days ahead of the week required. For example, meals for the week starting Monday 12th would have an order deadline of Thursday 1st.

You will have received an activation letter and temporary password to set up your ParentPay account. If you need this resent, please contact your school office.

Key Stage 2 

KS2 children (Years 3-6) may chose to bring in their own packed lunch or order and pay for a hot school meal. For full details, menus and how to order hot meals please click on the following link www.mealselector.co.uk . If they chose to bring in their own packed lunch, lunch boxes must be labelled and we encourage children to eat a healthy lunch. Fizzy drinks and sweets are not allowed. Please do not send drinks in cans or breakable containers.

All lunches are eaten in the school hall and operate on staggered sittings.

Universal Free School Meals

Children in EYFS and Key Stage One (Years R, 1 & 2) are all entitled to Universal Free School Meals.

Free School Meals 

Children whose parents receive the following support payments are entitled to receive free school meals

  • Income Support (IS).

  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA).

  • Support under VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) that does not exceed £16,190.

  • The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit.

Applying for Free School Meals

After lunch all children play outside. There is a range of play equipment available. On very wet days there are games and activities provided for the children to use indoors. All pupils are asked to bring a light-weight waterproof coat to school each day so they can make use of our fantastic outdoor area even when it is raining.
