Holmbury to Leith Hill

Year 5 assembled at Holmbury Youth Hostel on Thursday, ready and excited for the adventure ahead. We started off our evening by exploring the grounds and settling into our rooms. At 6:30pm we tucked into our dinner and refuelled ready for our evening of activities. We were all very excited for our tracking and trailing in the woods and found great places to hide. Inside we learnt about the route we would be walking and made little maps to help us. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to get our pyjamas on and settle down for a sing song. After half an hour of singing some campfire classics we went to bed.

The next morning brought great excitment - the day of our hike had finally arrived. After an amazing breakfast we got our bags ready and headed out. We walked up to the top of Holmbury Hill, where we admired the views and listened to the cuckoo sing in the trees.

We then started the next leg of our walk, through Holmbury village and up into the woods. It was here that we found a bank to sit and eat our lunch. After lunch we had some fun climbing up the bank and sliding back down.

The next part of our journey would take us to Leith Hill. We took part in the P&K tradition of running up the hill to the tower. Once at the top we enjoyed the views and held a reflection circle. It was lovely to share what we had enjoyed about our trip and how proud we all were of each other.

Our last little bit was a steep downhill walk to the car park where we met our parents.

We are all incredibly proud of all of Fox Class. They were fantastic representatives of our school, showed great care and teamwork. Well done.
