We had a brilliant time camping in the sunshine last week. It was so kind of Mrs Jesse to welcome us back to her farm for a day and a half of forest fun, campfire cooking and lots of joyful singing!
The children showed some excellent den building skills and made some fun games to go with them, including an elaborate pinecone store with some extortionate prices!
We ,made the short walk across the fields to see David the Butcher (Mrs Jesse’s son). Everyone was fascinated to see just exactly what goes into sausages and to learn how they were made. We then carried the precious cool bag back to our camp to start preparing dinner.
They all showed their fire safety knowledge and waited patiently for a delicious dinner. The children also did all their own washing up.
It was an evening of laughter with many funny songs accompanied with Mrs Jesse’s guitar. We then headed into the words for the night time walk and were mindful of how different the woods felt at night.
The following morning we had lots more games in the woods but there’s no denying some of us were very tired and a peaceful “sit spot “ helped us all reflect on a wonderful Farm Camp 2026.
