Wow, what a hot week of learning it has been! Hedgehogs have been absolutely brilliant and have continued to work really hard all week even despite the crazy heat. On Monday, Year Two explored the next part of the Design and Technology topic, ‘Cut, Stitch and Join’. Hedgehogs were challenged to make a bag tag using a running stitch to attach two pieces of fabric together. We have spent the last few weeks developing our sewing skills, and this was our chance to put them into practice. Year Two did fantastically and showed just how much they have learned. They were such skilled seamstresses and seamsters, carefully stitching their fabric together to create little pockets for their bag tags. Who knew it was so easy to make a little pouch? We were very impressed with their patience, concentration and determination.
Hedgehogs also had some fun on Wednesday during the heatwave. To help us cool down, we filled our trays with water and, sorry Mr King, turned them into mini paddling pools! Year Two were allowed to dip their feet in the water and they absolutely LOVED it. There were lots of smiles, giggles and happy faces all around. Well done, Hedgehogs, for continuing to work so hard even in the hot weather. Let’s hope for a slightly cooler week next week!
