This week we have kicked off our whole-school Art Week, with the exciting theme of colour. Year 2 has got the colour green, and we’ve made a fantastic start to this creative week. Our artwork has been inspired by the book ‘I Do Not Eat the Colour Green’, which is all about green vegetables! The book sparked great discussions about green foods and vegetables and helped the children think carefully about different shades and textures of green. On Wednesday, Hedgehogs produced some excellent printing work linked to green vegetables. We even had actual vegetables in the classroom. Year Two used polystyrene tiles to create their own printing blocks, carefully designing patterns before using rollers to apply paint and print their final pieces. The results were vibrant and effective, showing great detail and creativity. Miss Hall was so impressed. Year Two has started Art Week brilliantly and we are looking forward to sharing our artwork at the gallery next week.
