Plants, plant, plants!

We are learning about plants in Science and this week focusing on labelling the main parts with flower, leaf, stem/stalk and roots. We made a sunflower jigsaw and did some observational drawing of a tulip. Then, the children worked in pairs to ‘dissect’ the flowers and explore the different parts. Also, we have set up some investigations on our windowsill, to find out what changes (if any) happen to carrot tops and onions sitting in water, and a potato planted in soil. There were lots of predictions taking place!
