You just never know what will happen one day to the next ...

Yesterday morning we arrived at school to find a flatbed truck broken down in our lay-by. Our staff team quickly found a solution to the problem, setting up a one way system for traffic to ensure that all our children arrived at school safely. Thank you to all our families and buses for their understanding and co-operation. The lorry driver was very apologetic and his companion, Billy the Jack Russell Pug cross was very friendly!

Sadly, the lovely turf on the truck was destined for somewhere in Hampshire and not for us, even though we did suggest he might like to leave it here!

Good luck to our Choir!

Our choir have been lifting the ceiling at school with their wonderful singing! This evening they are going to join other schools in our locality at The Hawth Theatre and perform at the annual Music Festival.

Watch this video of them rehearsing to see just how brilliant they sound!

Connecting Classrooms

Today Robin Class face-timed West Chiltington Primary School and spoke to the Year One Class (Purple Class).  This was to do with our Kenya Connecting Classrooms project as their school are also part of the British Council project.  Robin Class loved using the laptop and asking the Year One children different questions about their school!

PAKSA Easter Chocolate Workshop

Music at Plaistow and Kirdford

Did you know that in addition to achieving some of the best outcomes in reading, writing and maths in the county we also offer a fantastic range of curriculum enrichment opportunities for our children.

Year Three and their violins

Year Three and their violins

We love music at our school and this year we have seen a real boost in the numbers of children taking up a musical instrument. Every year, children get the chance in Year Three to learn the violin. Additionally we have children learning: the guitar, cello, violin, piano, keyboard and saxophone.

Watch this video to see and hear a terrific rendition of Danny Boy!

Spring has Sprung

Gardening Club.jpg

Our Gardening Club took full advantage of the Spring weather today and headed out to the front of school with our Gardening Club Leaders, Mrs D'Aoust and Mrs Fraser.  They did a fantastic job of some weeding in the borders and tidying up the Hydrangea near the notice board.
