Volunteering

The contribution of members of our community is always highly valued and helps us to ensure we give our pupils the best possible education. We run a number of activities which are dependent on volunteers so please put yourself forward to help out.

Forest school

All children have the opportunity to take part in Forest School each year. To enable us to make the most of our rural location and the wonderful woodlands within our village we do need the support of volunteers to meet the required adult to child ratio to leave the school premises. This is an opportunity to experience everything nature has to offer, including the children's favourite - the mud!

Reading

It is not always possible for our class teachers to be able to hear every child in their class read each week, so we are delighted to have help from volunteers on a regular or ad hoc basis. Please speak to the class teacher if you are able to spare 20-40 minutes to sit and listen to children read. Many volunteers find this a hugely rewarding experience and the children benefit from the opportunity to read out loud.
