Summer Term 2019

No. 4 - 17th May 2019

Well done Year Six!

This week has been a tremendous week for our Badger class as they sat their Year Six tests. We are enormously proud of how they rose to the challenge of some particularly tricky tests. In total they sat close to five hours of tests that challenged their knowledge and skills in English, maths and spelling, punctuation and grammar; I challenge most adults to be able to explain the subjunctive form!

Well done Year Six and enjoy a well earned weekend rest!

E-Safety: Online Gaming

We have had some parents contact us regarding children’s behaviour whilst playing online gaming. They have referenced what we would consider poor behaviour if we were to see it in real life. We always follow up these reports in class and in assemblies. However, we would urge parents to monitor what is going on whilst their children are playing on line.

Mrs Morris’ Moon Walk

MoonWalk Success!

Mrs Morris completed her MoonWalk in London on Saturday night. She started her 26.2 miles at midnight and finished 8 hours and 53 seconds later after walking 61,498 steps! Although a little achy and tired from walking all night, she didn't get any blisters.

Mrs Morris would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has generously supported her fundraising. So far she has raised £478.77.

Sunday 19th May, 2.30-3.30pm – Plaistow Community Pop-up Choir Concert (at school). We have a few tickets available – please email Jenny at paksa@plaistowkirdford.com if you would like to come to hear the fantastic Pop-Up Choir and School Choir. Tickets are free.

Midsummer Night’s Mini-Fest

Join us on Friday 21st June for an evening of live music, food, fizz and frolics to raise money for Paksa. 

The event will be held on the school field from 6pm. Tickets are available at http://www.tiny.cc/plaistow-mini-fest or the school office. 

We would be grateful if you could buy tickets in advance as possible so we have an idea of numbers for catering/ drinks. Last date for ticket sales will be 6PM on Monday 17th June.
