Summer Term 2019

No. 7 - 14th June 2019

Goodbye Lambs! This week we said fair well to our lambs; they’ve been with us for two and a half months and were getting a little too big for their enclosure. We will miss them though! It has been brilliant fun having them here and we are already talking about what animals we will be getting next! Many thanks to Mrs Jesse, Mr Davis and our parent helpers for helping us to manage the animals.

It is that time of year again when we begin to think about transition and children moving up to their new year group. On Tuesday 25th June the majority of Year Six will be having their welcome day at The Weald. On that morning, all of our children will “move up” to spend the morning in their new classroom with their teachers.

We can confirm the teachers for next year and the classes:

Year Three: Mrs Howe and Mrs Joice

Year Four: Mr Ind

Have you heard of the game: Apex Legends?

It is a new free-to-play online battle royale game similar to Fortnite and is tipped to become a very popular game with children. It has received 50 million players in the first month of release.

It will be a fantastic evening with 3 live bands, circus activities for the kids, toasted marshmallows, homemade brownies, ice creams, bar and to top it off, a delicious hog roast and salad bar.

All profits will go towards IT equipment and a sunshade for the school playground.

Year 5 Farmers Market

Thank you to everyone who came along to support Year 5 and their Farmers Market today and also to all our families who helped with providing such amazing produce for our children to sell. Year 5 are hoping to purchase a new bench for the school to commemorate our 150th Birthday later this year.

Summer Fair Countdown – Thank you for your donations so far. The donations are really important – we couldn’t run many of the stalls without them.

Friday 21st June – Mufti Day

Please bring in a bottle of something nice for the bottle tombola (please check sell-bys!) in return for the children wearing own clothes.

Raffle Tickets – Please remember the deadline for returning raffle tickets is 26th June. Extra tickets are available from the school Office. The raffle is one of the main fundraisers at the Fair, so we appreciate all tickets sold!

Lucky Cups have gone home in bookbags today. Please fill with party bag type toys, sweets etc then wrap and return to school on Wednesday 26th June.

Sports Day – Cake Sale - Monday 24th June

The Cake Sale will go ahead after Sports Day. Thank you to YEARS 1, 2 & 4 for providing the cakes.
