We’re very excited! We’ve had the playground made ready today ready for our playground project to begin next week.

Parent Consultations

By the time our newsletter arrives in your email inbox, you should have received a “school comms” regarding parent consultations. You can book your parent consultation by clicking the button below.

The consultations are a really effective way of keeping you up to date with how your child is progressing in their learning as well as an opportunity for parents to ask questions and identify ways that they can help support learning at home.

As always if you ever you have some good or exciting news regarding your child or a concern, I would urge you to speak with your child’s class teacher. We are an “open door” school and parents and carers are always welcome to come in and talk with us.

If you ever do need to speak to a teacher and would like to make an appointment, the best method is to arrange it directly at drop-off or pick-up times. Alternatively you can organise an appointment by contacting the office at office@plaistowkirdford.com.

E-Safety

A number of parents have spoken to me this week about their concerns regarding the online game Fortnite; both in terms of children playing it and young children watching it.

Red Nose Day - Friday 15th March 2019

Once again this year we will be supporting Red Nose Day and trying to help raise lots of money for this very worthwhile charity. This year, we are asking all our children (and staff) to come to school wearing home clothes including something red and also mad hair, wigs or hats in exchange for a donation. Red noses are available from Sainsbury’s and Argos stores for £1.25 each.

Thank you to all our parents who have now activated their ParentPay account. If you have not already activated your account, we would like to encourage all our families to do so as we would like to start using this system for other methods of communication too.  Please click on the link below or contact the school office if you require any help or support in activating your unique username and password.

Friday 22nd March – Cake Sale (Years 3 & 4 providing the cakes)

Friday 5th April – Second-hand book sale after school

Do you enjoy singing?

The Plaistow Community Pop-Up Choir is being formed for a one-off concert to raise money for PAKSA. Have fun and meet new people! No need to be able to sing or read music. The Choir is open to the whole community.

Rehearsals will be held at school from 7.30-9pm on Thursday 24 April, 1 May, 8 May and 15 May. The concert will be on Sunday 19 May 3-4pm. Click on the link above to find out more.
